The price for this seed was terrific. Unfortunately, the shipping cost (almost $30) was excessive. Still it ended up being the cheapest price I could find online.

I've checked around quite a bit with retailers, suppliers, even the importers, and this is really the only option for getting Nyjer/Thistle seed for less than $2/lb. With shipping it works out to about $75-$80 for 50 lbs, which is the best deal going.This seed ships straight from the sterilizer (milk thistle must be sterilized before being imported into the U.S., else it will take over), and is a little drier than some of the more expensive stuff (you can see dust when you pour it), but the goldfinches don't seem to mind!EDIT: I just placed my third order and recently turned another goldfinch-loving friend onto this great deal as well. A couple of those $2.65 orange 5-gallon buckets (with lids) from Home Depot and you're set for a couple of months at least. ;-]

Good seed at a good price because finch seed is expensive and they eat so much of it. The only thing that keeps me from giving it five stars is the bag which I think needs a resealing feature because I don't like having an open bag of seed sitting around for many months.
