Good AVR
By Ron Rahav
Has good AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation)Power fluctuations (such as when I use my laser printer) do not effect my 700 watt plasma monitor. With other UPSs that I have tried, my plasma monitor would shutdown (or flicker) whenever I printed with my laser printer. One small drawback: it has a cooling fan the is too loud for quiet environments.

Power for when the storms hit!!!
By Eliot O. Loney
I had a modified sine wave UPS hooked up but when it kicked in everything would buzz, so I purchased this pure sine wave Cyberpower PP1500SW-T2 UPS as a backup for my 65" Samsung LED TV and home theater system now there is no buzz when the power goes down. When the storms here in Oklahoma hit and the power goes down for long periods of time you need something to keep you going. Generators are noisy and require gas, but a UPS is totally silent and requires nothing to keep you going for days if you hook it up like I did. This unit uses two small 12 volt batteries hooked up series to give 24 volts to the unit. I removed the internal batteries and hooked up four large sealed solar batteries giving me about 4 days of backup power for my lights, TV, etc.

So Far, So Excellent!
By bobthedog
I've only had this unit for about ten days now, but so far it is impressive. I run a P4 with a 750 watt power supply, 2GB of RAM, two internal SATA drives and two USB external drives, a DVD burner, router, modem, printer, 512MB video card and a 20" CRT monitor. All of these (when in full use - downloading and watching streaming video whilst printing) draw a maximum of 150-160 watts of power, according to the software accompanying the unit. The same software (which was quite easy to install) tells me I have about an HOUR of standby time (and, oh yeah, I also have my telephone answering-machine plugged into it).I'm planning to upgrade my system fully in a few months, and when the old UPS went wonky after 5-7 years, I decided to opt for decent protection. This unit doesn't sport the highly-overrated LCD screens of other units, but it's a bear of a Big Black Brick and it has both buck and boost circuits (which are fully configurable with respect to sensitivity using the included software) AND produces a true sinewave output.Couple the above with a long warranty and full coverage of anything you've got plugged into it if it goes haywire and you've got quite a decent backup.UPDATE - July 2012: In October 2011, I built a new system [i7 960; 1TB Drive; 6GB RAM; 22" LCD Monitor; LiteScribe Blu-Ray Burner; Etc.] to be used solely for gaming and video processing. I now have both systems connected to this UPS (although I don't run them simultaneously) and they are doing just fine. Both the old WinXP system and the newer Win7 system are connected to the back of the UPS (one via Serial Port and the other through USB), and they each use the power-management software included with the UPS.
