Everything you need but the make-up!

This was a quick, easy costume to put together for my mom. She is 85 and they were having a costume party for Halloween. I picked the "plus size" of this costume, because she wears just over a size 14, and I was afraid the regular size would be tight for her. I can see that the plus size would easily accommodate a size 16 or 18, because I needed to do some alterations---not only because it was quite roomy, but also because Mom is just under 5 feet tall. Still, all I had to do was bring up the hem, which had to be done from the bottom of the apron because the apron is actually attached to the blue hem, and I did some major safety pinning to make the bloomers stay up and keep the sleeves from dropping over her hands. Still, it took me longer to iron it than it did to do all the other stuff. Also, when I put the hat on Mom, it dropped down quite far over her forehead, so I bobby-pinned it to her hair underneath so that it would stay in place. The yarn hair is longer than it is in the picture of the costume, and it was straight. I took the scissors and cut it to the length it is in the picture of the costume, and that also made it look curlier, the way Raggedy Ann's hair looks in most pictures. After that, all I did was add the face paint (triangle nose, rosy cheeks, red button lip with black stitching, lower black lashes)and I just looked at a picture of Raggedy Ann from the Internet to do that. Everyone thought Mom looked great, and she said the costume was comfortable. This costume was worth the price, and I would say it is definitely true to size. The only reason I had to make all those alterations is because Mom would never have fit the smaller size.

Looks good on a size 14!

I bought this as I was afraid normal size wouldn't fit right-it is very roomy for a size 14. Only complaint is that the hat is too large for my head and covers my eyes. Everything else is worth the price!I had bought a dog costume of Raggedy Ann for my dog a few years back so now we match!Very cute looking.Only thing you need is shoes--I like that it even has matching socks!!!
