solid and well made

I needed solid, well made, sturdy handles for some very heavy, 60 year-old wooden sliding doors. Handles available in local hardware stores were not large or sturdy enough. These are perfect. They have a cool, sleek, modern look and are tough enough to stand up to the large, heavy doors. They arrived quickly and were easy to install.

I purchase 2 pulls from Amazon.com The pulls did not come in together. One came in packaged like it had never been open and the other one came in opened and just put in the box. I hope that one is new. It said new.I only purchase on Amazon when I can not buy from a company. I do not like to do that often due to I do not know where what you purchase comes from.The pulls were OK. I have to purchase some more pulls but I will look to purchase from a company and not amazon.James Street

Very nice. Even heat transfer. Nice workmanship but falls a bit short on craftsmanship with rim finishing and lid fitting. Still it is a good value. This is a Viking knockoff, Viking being a 10 this being a 9. I'm a professional chef and the CIA has a solid reputation for culinary knowledge. Viking has a great reputation for making the worlds best cookware. Save your money until you get enough for the original Viking version which will be painfully expensive.

Simple and substantial

I ordered three of these for an old cabinet that was refitted with three wide drawers. The handles are a very aesthetically pleasing alternative to the super plain contemporary alternatives that are out there [a look I also like but not suitable for my kitchen]. The handle is substantial and stable, so there is no rolling of the center piece in the two posts like you sometimes get with cheaper handles.

This vest works well and for a long time. I have a brain injury and must stay cool to prevent severe symptoms similar to heat stroke. I can go for a walk in the warm summer mornings with this vest on. It's 100 degrees every afternoon and this vest is not enough for that.

The rug seems well made and looks nice, but it was not what I expected or wanted. The border is a dark chocolate brown that is much darker than it appears in the photo. The weave is large with a pronounced pattern of gold, dark brown and beige.

These are sturdy and well made and look great in the kitchen. They also make wee wee pads for use in another room that Rexie will actually use. We have tried almost every wee wee/potty station on the market and many wee wee pads, but he eats most of them. These are well made and absorbent and the rubberized bottoms help also.

Exceptional PROFESSIONAL Grade Sockets!

Sockets are in my opinion a serious STRONG POINT of the S-K tool line. To the point - S-K makes, in my opinion, some of the very best professional grade sockets to be found anywhere, no matter the brand or the price. Point blank - period - they are comparable to the very best, and as good as it gets.In my personal tool box I have literally hundreds of sockets. Standard height - tall - chrome - impact - 1/4 - 3/8 - 1/2 - you name it - if you need it to work on a car - good chance it's in there. I have sockets from Snap-On, from MAC Tools, Matco, and Cornwell. And I have sockets from S-K. I would say S-K sockets make up at least 25% of all the sockets I own - and they are absolutely fantastic. They grip bolts with rounded off corners with ease. They will turn anything that the big boys sockets will turn. I have put my impacts on 1/2 inch Dynabrade pneumatic impact guns without any deforming on the square attachment hole. What can I say? THEY WORK! They hold up! And they do everything and anything you ask of them to do.The WORST think I can say about them is that it IS possible to scratch the chrome on the deep well sockets for example if you use them to loosen up a lug nut on a wheel. I did NOT say scratch THROUGH - just a superficial mark on the chrome itself. Now if you used the impacts instead - that is not a problem. I just needed a thin wall socket because of clearance on a Porsche, and noticed this later. Probably any of the others - no matter the brand - would have gotten a mark also - so I do not criticize them for this. Their Chrome seems to be as hard and as thick as any on my Snap-Ons or Macs.All in all - a stellar superstar product - at a price the average home mechanic can afford. I give this product 5 stars - only because I can not give it 6......

Good Overall Boots

Bates makes a good product. There is about a one to two week break in period for these boots, especially if you use footpads on top of the insoles. The upper and lower sections are of good quality. The soles seem to be of good quality as well. The tread and sole material help on ice and snow, which is awesome. The tread pattern is aggressive and I commend Bates for doing that. Too many boot companies put more of a dry pavement walking pattern on the bottom of their boots. Alaskan winters aren't compatible with boots built for urban summer environments.The only issue that I have had with these boots is in the seam area along each side of the boot toward the toe. They are just a little snug for my feet. I wear a 10D, and usually I don't have any issues with that on any brand of boot. The footbed seems comfortable enough, and the rest of the boot is fine. I have gotten used to this, so I don't always notice it depending on which socks I wear. I have not had any rub problems since the boots have been broken in.The side zipper is awesome. This is the first pair of boots I bought with this configuration and I have to say I have missed out. You can get them on quickly. I get called out in the middle of the night periodically, and I want to get dressed and move quickly, and that actually helps considerably.The waterproofing seems very good. I work in a temperate rain forest. I need waterproof boots nearly year round. So far, I have not had any problems in this area. Another failing of boot companies is to claim waterproofing, and I am here to tell you that it is not necessarily the case. Walk through a muskeg at 3AM for an hour tracking down a bad guy, and you will find all the seams in a "waterproof" boot before you're done.So, I commend Bates on being able to build a quality, waterproof boot at a fair price. Considering what other companies charge for gore-tex lined boots, Bates is a bargain.

Great Boots

For the weight, the price, the gore-tex and the durability these are great boots. I have had only one pair in the last 3 years and they are still holding up. I am an avid hiker and these are my favorite boots that I've ever owned half the time I don't even realize they are on. The side-zip helps so much when you are tired after a hike, or in the middle of the night when "nature-calls." The Gore-tex performs great and I have stomped through many a creek/stream in my day. I take them hunting also and even in the snow with a nice wool sock I am warm, dry and cozy. Minimal break in period means they are good to go! I was first turned on to this name and brand as an LDS missionary, they are marketed to missionaries because of their sole durability (despite what others have said) they stay dry and they can be polished. If you know anything about LDS missionaries it should be that they walk a lot. I am a bates buyer for life now. If you want to spend a little more and get a Vibram sole, the GX-9 is right up your alley. They will be my next pair, but I have converted more than a few people to them over the last few years.

A good all around boot

Never owned a side zip boot until now. Mine were issued through work. Given the price in Canada, I probably would buy a Danner, Corcoran or Matterhorn but these are comfy and keep my feet warm and dry. I gotta admit, the side zip is very convenient. They are light and feel almost like wearing sneakers. Don't imagine I'll get years of wear out of them though.

LOVE this pan!

I am very clear about my criteria for cookware. Pans must feel substantial without being too heavy, must heat evenly, must be easy to clean, must be adaptable to a variety of uses, and finally, must look good hanging in my kitchen. This pan easily meets all these criteria! Since I received it (excellently packaged, as fine cookware should be), I find I use it often, always with excellent results. And I love pairing it with the CIA steamer insert. Now that I am retired and have more time to enjoy cooking, I have begun treating myself to cookware I can truly be excited about. I am so glad I decided to purchase this piece.

If you try it, you'll like it

This is my first saucier, and I can say that it is a wonderful shape in which to cook. Whipping, or stirring with a silicone spoon, is so much fun when the shapes match!This particular saucier seems to do its job very well, with even heating and good heat retention. It is also, IMO, very attractive in a utilitarian way. The 3-quart size is perhaps too large when making a bit of sauce for two, but quite nice for something like gumbo or risotto. I think someday I will get the 1-quart as well, and most certainly stay with this manufacturer. The top for this pan also fits 1 or 2 other CIA pots. There is also a steamer/pasta insert available.I would also like to point out that the weight of the handle is NOT so much as to unbalance the empty pan, as happens with some of my All Clad pans that have difficulty laying flat on my electric stove.

Great Saute Pan

Actually, I'd wanted a 12 inch All Clad Saute pan, but they don't make a 12 inch saute with a helper handle on the opposite end. This (CIA Masters Collection) pan DOES have one, and is every bit as well made (if not better, since it has an aluminum AND copper core). And like All Clad -- it's hefty -- so when you add food it helps to have the helper handle. It performs flawlessly. I'm glad I found one that meets all my requirements.

Terrific saute pan

Like other reviews have pointed out, this is a large, heavy, solid pan.That said, it's definitely worth it. It heats very evenly (make sure to pre-heat for a few minutes and use some real oil/butter, not the aerosol stuff), cleans up well (polish with Bon Ami if desired - never use steel wool) and feels like it's been forged of one continuous piece of metal (unlike other pans where cheap rivets make the handle attachment wobbly).This has become my go-to pan for most stove-top tasks. Admittedly it's a tad big for some small jobs (a single fried egg looks comically tiny), but that's no reason not to buy.This purchase has made me want to get more pieces from the CIA Masters Collection - I like the brand better than All-Clad for both performance and price. FYI, this also comes in a 10" version and both sizes are available with a nonstick coating.Tip: If you want to move this pan one-handed when it's laden with food, you can grab close to where handle is attached and brace it against your forearm (the handle's curve and size makes it feel like it was designed for this). While not as easy as using both hands and the helper handle, it's a good way to muscle things about.

Pan is heavy, and needs the auxiliary handle. It heats well and evenly on low heats. We bought this for specific use on a glass top range. I am not a large person, and found that I can pick up the skillet with my left hand, the trick being to use the heighth and length of the handle against my forearm for support. I can transport it to the table that way, serving with my free hand. I believe it was great value for the money.

Sturdy, Nice Appearance

I bought this stand with the hope that I could place my scanner in the lower compartment. My scanner at it's tallest point is just under 2.75". Before buying the stand, I read the reviews here and elsewhere and could not find the dimensions of the compartments- not even on the Rolodex website. Figuring it had to be close- or I could just use it without the bottom shelf, I bought it anyway.Well, the stand comes fully assembled and the bottom compartment is 1/4" too short for my scanner. For the record, the dimensions are: 18.25" wide, 2.5" high, and 11" deep (depth is limited by an internal partition for the cable management). For completeness, the upper two compartments are 9" wide, 2.5" high, and 14" deep. Each of the upper compartments have ~1.5 circular hole on the shelf for cables to pass through, and the holes are about 4" on center from the front lip of the shelves. The bottom shelf (and the rest of the pieces) appears to be glued in place.Even though I cannot use it as I planned, I'll keep it. The price was right, especially with the Prime shipping. And it gives me a tad more desk space, since its footprint is narrower than my wide-format printer, which now sits on top. 4 Stars because *I Like It*, but don't *Love* it.

good value for the money

Item arrived quickly and well packed. I have a black PB corner unit desk and this piece matches perfectly without taking up too much space. The top of the stand is 21x18 ,but the bottom footprint is 19x14.5. It is 6.5 inches tall. It is very classy and sturdy enough for a 3-in-1 printer. There is an plugged up access hole in the back that you can unplug and run wires through for chargeable items that you may want to store on the bottom shelf,such as phones and cameras.

Printer Stand? Nay... Monitor Stand!

I know this product was designed to be a printer stand, but I bought it with the intention of using it as a monitor stand. I've got a very plain desk without a lot of storage space, so having the cubby holes in this stand is a great feature. It saves space and clears desk space since I don't have to have papers scattered all over my desk. I love it and would highly recommend it - whether you want it for its intended purpose of a printer stand or as a monitor stand.
