5Watchmakers Advice
By Claude H. Suddreth
I am rather opinionated when it comes to luxury watches. This comes from spending 2 years in watchmaking school, studying directly under the guidance of a certified master swiss watchmaker who came here from Europe. Watches, especially mid to high grade swiss watches, are a passion of mine. I am not loyal to a brand or a style or anything else. I judge them for what they are, in terms of quality, function, construction, and style. A watchmakers point of view. This said I will tell you that this particular watch is what I consider to be a "best kept secret" sort of watch. This is an AUTOMATIC watch (read: Mechanical - NOT Quartz), and of CHRONOMETER grade function. Chronometer as used here is a measure of accurate timekeeping, not quality - a point often misunderstood - and is used mostly from a marketing point of view by companies such as Rolex. HOWEVER. This movement in THIS watch is actually EXCELLENT in terms of quality, time keeping ability, and construction - easily comparable to other Swiss made movements from other famous manufacturers costing several times as much. This watch, properly serviced, will provide a lifetime of use - and probably more. Absolutely the sort of watch you pass down to the next generation. All in all - and EXCELLENT choice - especially for those seeking their first QUALITY Swiss watch purchase.Definitely recommended!

5Worth the asking price!
By Ajay Rao
1. First of all, buy from an Authorized Dealer. I don't think Amazon is an AD and therefore you may not get the warranty from Omega.2. There has been a price increase this year. This watch is pushing $4000 retail now.3. There is 1 AD i know of that will sell for this price that Amazon has. Go to your local AD, show them you are serious, and ask for a discount.Having said that, the watch itself is brilliant. Looks terrific on my hand, works well with formal clothing or with business casual. Keeps accurate time well and just feels and looks like quality. Looks more modern than anything Rolex has to offer and is certainly on par with Rolex on build quality.Definitely worth the buy in my opinion.

5THE BEST SUMMER WATCH I EVER OWNED
By NeuroSplicer
I just love OMEGA timepieces. Not only do they offer the best balance between cost and quality but they are beautifully designed, striking that perfect chord of understated sophistication and timid power. It is like going slow while driving a muscle car. This PLANET OCEAN SEAMASTER is just gorgeous. The faceplate is easy to read under all conditions (the domed sapphire-crystal is double anti-glare and the tritium hands and numerals magnificently luminescent). The black-stainless steel-offwhite-orange theme is perfectly balanced and it will compliment most outfits. My advice: buy the steel-band version and, at the same time, order the rubber strap (it is usually cheaper than ordering a steel band later on its own). You may need to visit your jeweler whenever you will decide to switch between the bands but for a small price you will essentially have two completely different-looking watches. On a planet of water, in a desert of cities, under the canopy of the stars this is what should keep time.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

5Truly a Stunning Watch!!
By Kimolaoha
Notwithstanding the description provided above, this Model 1365.71.00 Constellation "Mini" is from Omega's Cindy Crawford (not Nicole Kidman) "My Choice" collection; the 18K gold bezel and other adornments are solid gold (not plated); and the stainless steel bracelet and case are polished (shiny, and not satin or brushed).Having cleared that up, please also note that the original listing picture does not even begin to do this watch justice, so I've added a few stock pictures that I found while researching this watch before giving it to my wife as a birthday present. Even these pictures, though, do not adequately showcase the mother of pearl dial, which is very pretty (but just appears white in the pictures).Note that the "Mini" Constellation is purposefully small, dainty and delicate -- which is exactly what my wife wanted -- but would perhaps not be suitable for a larger wrist. (The Ladies' Constellations are, however, available in two larger sizes -- 25.5mm (Small) and 27.5mm (Mid-size)). This "Mini" - at 22.5 millimeters -- is about 3 or 4 mm smaller than my wife's Rolex oyster and considerably thinner. The diamonds around the bezel certainly make this watch the dressier of the two -- a little fussier -- but it still looks just great with jeans. The entire Amazon transaction was flawless, the watch arriving via Overnight UPS (with signature required), as I opted to upgrade from my standard Second Day Amazon Prime account. Omega's Ladies Constellation product packaging is first class - beautiful box with red bow -- and everything was included from Amazon (manuals, cards, papers, protective plastic wrapping around bracelet and face, etc.). Important note: As Amazon is NOT an authorized Omega retailer, the Omega warranty card is NOT included, not available, and not honored -- but Amazon does provide its own two year warranty. The serial number is present on the watch and matches the included paperwork, and the watch appears to be a recent specimen, i.e. not collecting dust on a shelf for several years.I couldn't be happier with the purchase and - needless to say - neither could my wife!!For those interested in the history of Omega's Constellation line of watches, here's some history that I found while researching the watch (also see the accompanying pictures):In 1952, OMEGA introduced the Constellation, a watch that was to become - and still is -- the flagship of OMEGA's entire line. The first OMEGA Constellation was introduced with an automatic movement - the `so-called' bumper rotor. The 12-sided dial on this watch caused a sensation when it was introduced, and is often referred to as the 'pie-pan' because it looks like an upside down pie pan. The bumper rotor movement was replaced in 1956 by a movement featuring a full rotor. The early "pie-pan" Constellations are very popular amongst collectors of vintage watches. In the 1970s, the legendary 'pie-pan' came to an end and made room for the typical chunky shaped watches. These 1970s Constellations are not as popular or valuable as the 1950s and 1960s models. In 1982, OMEGA launched a new series of watches in the Constellation line that introduced a particularly radical and enduring design concept. The 'Manhattan' Constellation had an integrated bracelet, available in either stainless steel or gold/steel. The sapphire crystal was placed on top of the shiny polished black bezel and held by four little signature 'claws'. These now-famous "Griffes" or claws placed it among the ranks of the world's most instantly identifiable timepieces. The Griffes were not only striking aesthetically, but were also highly functional in those days, for they held the sapphire crystal and gasket firmly against the case, contributing to the watch's water resistance. While the Griffes were initially introduced for their functionality, their individuality played a greater role in the Constellation's remarkable popularity than anyone could have imagined: they became the trademark which defined the watch line. A compelling argument could be made that if the dials were removed from most watches, only experts and enthusiasts would be able to tell them apart. Such was not the case with the OMEGA Constellation, which could be distinguished immediately from across a room and at any angle.1995 marked a milestone for both OMEGA and the Constellation. That was the year that OMEGA started working with brand ambassadors, the very first of which was supermodel Cindy Crawford, who actively participated in the design selection process with OMEGA's watch specialists. The first serious update of the Manhattan also took place in 1995. The rather simple and flat looking sapphire crystal of the 1982 version was replaced by a domed crystal with a smaller diameter. Even though the bezel was no longer completely covered by the crystal, the four signature claws that had identified the watch as a Constellation since the "Manhattan" model remained present on the bezel even though they had lost their initial functionality. The roman numerals were also removed from the dial, and relocated to the bezel. The updated model had a dial with applied baton hour markings. The movements also were updated in 1995.The original design of 1982 was still clearly present in this 1995 update. Additionally, OMEGA added the Constellation Mini series, promoted by Cindy Crawford, and offered 18K gold bracelets and bezels adorned with diamonds. Additionally, from a marketing perspective, the Constellation famously became "Cindy's Choice". These watches were the initial releases of the present Constellation line which has, since its launch and subsequent updating, been a favorite of OMEGA's fans around the world. Cindy's advertisements for the Constellation developed, over time, into OMEGA's "My Choice" advertising campaign: an image of a popular OMEGA ambassador is displayed in the brand's posters and advertisements along with a photograph of a Constellation watch, and a text limited to the subject's name and the words MY CHOICE.Constellations are both sporty and elegant - an essential part of OMEGA's rich heritage.

5none better!
By L. Harrell
I know I drove my new husband nuts when we registered. I changed my mind about a million times, and researched everything on our registry. I was the worst when it came to choosing China. I looked first at various beautifully painted patterns, only to realize that they weren't dishwasher or microwave safe. And most of the White patterns were so dainty my husband wouldn't even pick them up in the stores, so I was terrified to have them around him and children, since we have 4 neices and 2 nephews under the age of 8. My solution came in this china. The pattern is elegantly simple so it will never be dated and even though it's thin and light (yes, it's translucent, you can see light through it, but good china is supposed to be) it is a comfortable fit for everyone who uses it, from my 6'6" husband to our 2 year old neice. This China is also microwave safe, dishwasher safe, oven safe and chip resistant. I've found this to hold true because my husband always overloads the sinks and dishwasher, and tends not to care where he puts things. My Mikasa china is holding up beautifully. My teacups have been used to bake souffles, freeze parfaits and all of the dishes have been repeatedly microwaved. Yes THIS CHINA IS OVEN, FREEZER, DISHWASHER, MICROWAVE ETC. PROOF! My only advise is wipe the cups before they go in the dishwasher. If you like drinking the milk out of your cereal bowl, I would suggest either purchasing additional cereal bowls or purchasing the smaller set and definitely purchasing additional platters and vegetable bowls. This set comes with rimmed soup bowls and they are not good to sip out of.

5Beautiful and Elegant China
By Long Time Shopper
I narrowed it down to the Antique White and the French Countryside. Both are very similar in pattern and was having a very difficult time choosing one. I had almost gone with the French Countryside because I liked the option of square plates, which I didn't see for the Antique White, and I liked the French Countryside pattern just a tad more. But in the end, I chose the Antique White for 2 reasons. 1) I wanted true white dinnerware and the French Countryside was more a linen/cream color. 2) Antique White is china; the French Countryside is stoneware. All my dishes are currently stoneware (20+ years) and although I like them because they stand up to everyday use, I really had my heart set on good China, something a bit more elegant and lighter weight but still able to withstand everyday use.I've only had the set for about a month and it took a little getting used to using something that looks so delicate and elegant as everyday-ware. Even my husband said food looks better on the white. We use it just like our other stoneware and so far so good! The set was packaged very well. I also purchased the cereal bowls and we love them! Another good thing about this pattern is that if an item ever does break (I've been known to be a bit clumsy sometimes), replacements won't be hard to find (at least for now) since it's one of Mikasa's most popular patterns. I am so happy that I decided on the Antique White!!UPDATE (2+ Years Later):So it's been over 2 years using this set and all the pieces are as beautiful as the day I got them. They always get washed by the dishwasher so they've held up. I also purchased the pasta bowls but they are stoneware and not fine China. The only problem I've had was a little chip on one of the pasta bowl. But the original set is still immaculate and I still love it!

5Excellent quality and quantity for the price
By Marieko
The Mikasa Antique White set is made of fine china instead of the more fragile stoneware of the Mikasa French Countryside set, available for the same price. The pattern is the same, so do not confuse them (Amazon.com has switched the descriptions for these two dinnerware sets).Mikasa makes Antique White dinnerware out of its "Ultima +" brand of fine china (supposedly very strong), and describes it as oven, freezer, dishwasher and microwave safe.I have just received the Antique White 45 piece set (8 place settings with teacups and a serving set) well packed and intact, and will update this review should it not perform up to expectations.Note: I recently saw the same set at the same price in my local Macy's.

    5Impressions
    By Dream Master
While I have only had this photo printer a very short time, I can already say that it is impressive.I have never seen this good of print quality. The 4800x4800 scanner delivered a beautiful 8x10 print from a 35mm negative with no adjustments or computer assistance. The copies were quick and faithful.I am truly pleased to have purchased this MP810.I did have some trouble installing the software from the driver cd. For some reason the installation would stall at various points and after 11 or 12 tries it finally installed completely. The drivers themselves work fine.I have owned several photo printers and used Kodak dye sublimation printers. This high resolution printer simply beats all of my previous experiences. The printer is Quiet and fast. The scanner is fast and incredibly sharp. Plus it has features that I do not even have time to talk about that are truly amazing. Too many good things to say about it.

5Canon Pixma MP810- fun and easy to use
    By D. Saccar
If you have 35mm slides that you want to turn into 4x6 prints, then this is the machine for you. I just printed some 53 year old 35mm slides as 4x6 prints and was very surprised at the quality of the colors and clarity of the prints. The Fade Restoration option is great for some of those slides that need a little "extra". The fact that you don't even need a computer to get started is a big plus. Of course, you do get a lot more versatility with the computer software, but if you just want quality prints from film, slides, cameras, etc. without the hassle of loading up software, this is great!Con - it is a bit on the bulky side, so make sure you have enough room to set it up. I have mine on a card table so that I have more room to lay out the slides I want to print.I give it a "thumbs up".

5All I can say is WOW!! Color me happy!!
    By Stuck in OH Illini
After reading reviews at Amazon and elsewhere and seeing the product in the store, the MP810 became my choice. Now I'm the winner!!I can't give this printer 10 stars and I'd like to. Printed photos from my digital camera are exquisite and vivid with great definition and depth. Love the separate color cartridges as my granddaughter often wears pink. Using the maintenance ink check, after 15 full coverage 8x10 sheets, the magenta cartridge was down 1/4 and the rest were still at the full mark. I've reproduced my husband's business card on card stock using a PDF format and he couldn't be happier. The 9 pt. font is clear and sharp. Printed maps from the internet are equally clear and sharp. Printing on both sides is so practical for reports and stored records. The scanned photos easily popped up into Photoshop CS and look great printed. 4x6 borderless are a snap and beautiful. Usually I wait 24 hrs. to place photos in an album, but I believe these are fully dry much sooner. Printed text included my 1040 and other reports in small fonts. Couldn't be happier with the printed text (though I noted other reviewers comments to the contrary). The film/slide scanner is the main feature for choosing this printer over the others. Last year I paid a local camera store $250 to scan 150 slides that were 60 years old. I am preparing another iPhoto book using more of the 60 year-old slides as well as old and new family photos.Though it is a larger footprint than the HP AIO it replaced, the MP810 looks sophisticated and runs very smoothly (do unlock the scanning bed when you are setting it up). It was an easy set-up out of the box. The screen on the printer is easy to use. Our somewhat elderly digital camera will soon be replaced, but in the meantime the SmartMedia card it uses works just fine in this printer. This is an awesome, A+ printer. Skipped the fax feature as a requirement since the old HP AIO still faxes OK as a stand alone. You will not regret owning and having fun with this beautiful, many-featured workhorse.

5Hi quality prints in a hurry with this slick easy to use printer
    By A. Santiago Jr.
Received this mini260 recently as a gift. It was very easy and quick to set up and get up and running. Just remove a few plastic wrappings and pop in the ink cartridge, print out 2 alignment strips and you are good to go. Just select number of copies and press print and off it goes. You can select standard or high quality, but they both looked great and identical to me. Using standard gives you prints in 20 or 30 seconds. The higher setting takes just under a minute. I started using it before reading the instructions so at first I was printing the same photo over and over, because it was the only one selected to print 1 copy. It does not print what you see on the screen unless you have selected at least 1 copy of it. There will soon be a battery pack for this but it is not available yet. I also have not found a carrying bag for the printer and accessories made specifically for this printer (like HP has), so I just use a small laptop case which works perfectly to carry the printer, AC cord, extra paper and ink. The prints come out dry, they look great and this has been a very fun printer to use. I'm very impressed and partial to the Canon quality of cameras and printers. They just seem to always work great with no hassle. There is a separate sheet of paper included with the printer easy set up guide instructing you to make sure the ink cartridge sits nice and snug in it's slot. It's just something Canon wanted to add after printing their setup guide to make sure you pop the cartidge in place properly. Another reviewer made it sound like a big deal but it's not. You'll know if the ink is sitting properly or not. I have a lot of Canon photo paper but also tried some other generic brand and the pictures look just as good. So, maybe this printer isn't very picky as to the type of photo paper you use. I know Kodak paper works great on my Canon i550 printer for photos. Also, this is a very quiet printer. Not much noise when printing at either standard or hi-quality. The carrying handle that slides out of the unit is also pretty nice when moving printer from room to room.

    4Good Pictures
    By J. Watson
When I first got the printer I had some HP and Kodak 4x6 blank photo paper. I tried printing pictures and they looked bad (had streks, blury). I found out you have to use Canon paper. After I bought Canon paper the pictures look very good using pictures taken with a 4.0 mega-pixel Canon camera.

    1Disappointed - Very Disappointed
    By Beverly
I've always loved Canon digital cameras, so I was sure that I would also love a Canon printer. Sadly, I've never been so unhappy with anything as I am with this mini260 printer. After less than six months, of light to medium use, the printer seems to be worn out. I am faced with either replacing the print head (which Canon happily tells me may not solve the problem), or replacing the printer completely. Further, I have found that the ink cartridges are nearly impossible to find locally (so I order them from amazon), the paper is very expensive locally, and the printer is picky about using only Canon paper. Other papers give very poor print results. The user interface is very 'clicky', and I'm not impressed with the feel of the printer - it's very lightweight and fragile-feeling. Before I purchased this canon printer, I used an HP photoprinter (one of the first) for YEARS and was very happy. Guess what I am about to do now ?

    4Son loves it
    By Dino DeAngelis
My son loves this gift set that he got for Christmas. He's 7 years old and loves to color and draw, not to mention the clay! It has a great assortment of good pencils, markers etc... The only problem with it, is the box. It looks very nice, and has quality latches that keep it closed. The entire set it fairly heavy and seems good quality except the hinges and tiny screws that hold them in the wood. The first week, my son put something extra in the case that didn't fit in the inserts. What happened when he closed the cover, the hinges pulled out... I can fix with longer screws, but I don't know how long it will hold up, the wood seems pretty soft. He doesn't mind it, but it seemed a little cheap compared to the rest of the kit.

    4Great Art Kit
    By Lisa
Finally, I've found the perfect art kit. Purchased this for my then 5 year old nephew who loves to draw. He still uses this set and he's 8 now! The assortment of items is excellent, markers, colored pencils, watercolor pencils, sharpener, eraser, clay, oil pastels, etc. We too had problems as mentioned by the other reviewer w/ the hinges on the case. The case looks great but doesn't hold up. For the price, you get a lot but they should knock off a few bucks if they can't build a decent carrying case. Overall, we're all happy w/ the purchase. A great kit for any budding artist who's beyond crayons!
