4Mah Jongg set
By Sylvia Landis
I purchased the Western Mah Jongg set specifically because theclear plastic slider was pictured. (Sliders are very helpful whenbreaking the tiled walls.) The set did not arrive with sliders. Also, the dice are extremely small. To the company's credit, the carrying case is sturdy and the setcame with an instruction manual.

4Great saddle for Touring and longer Commuting
By Roger L. Bombardier Jr.
I Purchased a Brooks Champion Flyer saddle (Black) mid-May 2010.I've read all the reviews I could get my hands on regarding Brooks saddles, and felt it was something I wanted to try. You have a LARGE contingent of those who swear by them with religious furor and a much smaller contingent who are disgusted that theirs never broke in and gave up.Thus I felt it was a bit of a gamble. So far I am guardedly pleased. I have about 200 miles on the saddle so far, it appears to be breaking in quite nicely. One gent told me that his brooks to 1000 miles to break in but that it was comfortable after that. Brooks says that their saddles typically take about 300 Kilometers to break in. I'm a 43 year-old male 5' 9" 215lbs.I've been a Specialized brand loyalist for most of the last decade, and in many respects I still am, I still recommend Specialized Milano type especially for men overwhelmingly. Because of out of box comfort for the price, perhaps a couple K on the Brooks will change that but not yet. When I first opened the box and felt of the saddle I was worried I'd made a mistake, it feels way too hard to be comfortable when you handle it. I was determined to try so I installed it and found it considerably more comfortable than it looked but not as comfortable as some of the specialized saddles I've used right away.I made the smart move of packing the larger Allen wrenches in my bike bag think I'd have to make quite a few adjustments to the Brooks and I was correct. In the past with other saddles, I'd moved it a half inch here, a quarter-inch there, etc. I was usually happy with 2 or 3 adjustments. I've made at least 6 adjustments to the Brooks to slowly bring it into where I was happy with the ride, not pitching myself too far forward, etc. The adjustments tend to be more frequent and smaller. The last adjustment I made was to move it 1/8 of an inch forward and yes I really could feel a difference. The saddle seems to disappear under me when I ride it and I rarely notice or think about it on that bike, I take this as a good thing and that I am on the right track.I was not prepared for the slippery factor, the saddle is a bit slippery due to the shiny leather, if you're used to synthetic saddles with the grippy fabric on them this will surprise you. I'm not sure the slippery tendency is good for off-road riders, they may opt to stay away from brooks for this reason, or at least try someone else's Brooks before you buy. Speaking for myself, I'm keeping my specialized saddle on the mountain bike. This is not a factor for me on the road bike as I'm using it purely on the road bike for long commutes and some touring.I'm following Brooks care instructions to the letter, if you buy online be sure to order some Brooks "Proof hide" I forgot to do this and now there is a shortage of the stuff here in town. Luckily a local shop called "Old Spokes Home" put some proof hide on there for me, no charge. That will cover me until I can buy my own tin.I have noticed some spring squeak on my flyer but this was only for a brief period after a rain. Seems to be gone now, don't know if it will return. The springy feel is not very noticeable unless you pogo up and down deliberately. I feel the springs do take some of the bumps out.I rode up beside a gent on a surley LHT during my commute one day who had the same Brooks flyer only in brown, he's had his for a lot longer and says "I love it".So after 200 miles, I'm happy and will probably stick with it. It seems to be getting increasingly comfortable. I feel I can recommend this saddle to the dedicated male touring or longer distance commuting cyclist. (my commute is 20 miles each way). I cannot recommend this saddle to cyclists who only rides the occasional weekend ride, or the off-road cyclist. I suggest that these folks look to Specialized Milano. Women should seek out saddle reviews written by women IMHO.-Roger

5Best saddle ever...period
By M. Rubin
I have a Brooks Champion Flyer that I've been riding for a couple of years on a cyclocross frame. Got a great deal on a lugged steel road frame and put on a Brooks B17 to save a little weight. The B17 is lighter and prettier (especially the one with copper rivets) but I decided to put on the Champion Flyer to see how it felt on the road bike. OMG! What a difference! The Champion Flyer turned the road bike into a limo. Absorbs all the little bumps and greatly softens the big ones. It's way more comfortable than the B17 and worth the extra 10 ozs, particularly if you have a somewhat upright riding position.

5Brooks Champion Flyer pros and cons
By P. A. Childrey
The Brooks Champion Flyer is my fourth Brooks bicycle saddle. My first lasted twenty years. I bought the Champion Flyer for a hardtail mountain bike that I have been using as my around-town, utility bike.Pros: The saddle is perfectly designed, constructed, and finished. It is absolute art, even in the standard-rivet model. The springs are firm, even for me at 220 lbs, so riding efficiency is not diminished. The springs do absorb both small vibrations and the occasional bigger impact. The result is that you feel less fatigued after a longer (10+ mile) ride than you would without the springs. The saddle fits standard bicycle rails.Brooks saddles, once broken-in, are custom-fit comfortable, and will never disappoint you.The saddle comes with a spanner wrench for tightening. This becomes more important after break-in, to keep the leather taut.Cons: This saddle doesn't come with a tin of the proofhide saddle dressing.

5Excellent
By Put away wet.
I got mine several years back. This is a truly great wheel. The leather is soft, but smooth and wears well. The rubber under the leather is firm, but gives slightly- I can't stand the rubbery feel especially on GM cars- this is completely different, and well thought out. It comes with a horn button, and what can I say... very nice wheel and well worth the cost. I believe that you should carefully select the tactile surfaces on your vehicle- a steering wheel and shift knob make all the difference in the world to the driving experience. They make a version of this with suede leather as well, but I can't imagine that it would stand up to daily use. This is one for your daily if you can do without the air bag.Two thumbs up.

5Awesome beginner guitar!!
By J-Mo
Dean EVO XM (black)Positive(s): Great look. Great feel. Excellent quality. Sweet sound. Stays in tune a long time. Looks great. Came with 6 foot long cord. Was prestrung (but had to tune it, of course). Totally worth the money!!Negative(s): When it arrived, the nuts holding the knobs and the switch were a little loose. I tightened them and all was well. It only took me about 2 minutes to tighten them.Concerns: Does not come with a strap or stand (no big deal, just letting you know).Delivery Concern: The guitar itself was packed in a "Dean" guitar box with minimal protection around it (no big deal if it were just sitting in a warehouse somewhere waiting to be purchased). When it was delivered to me, Amazon packed it in an additional, larger box but there was only about 2 pieces of packing paper protecting it and keeping the "dean" box from moving around. Luckily my guitar arrived undamaged which was a surprise due to the lack of packaging materials used. Pack your packages better, Amazon!

3NICE LOOKER, BUT IT HAD TO GET A 3, SEE WHY!
By Mark F. Roling
I bought this guitar as one of my collection because of the Dean name. I have had other Dean's, and have not been sorry. This time, however, when the box arrived I thought, well, okay, let's see. When I opened the outer box, which I think was packed by Amazon (not sure, had Amazon label that maybe they shop out to warehouses?), there was two skinny pieces of crumpled brown paper protecting the Dean box, so it was rattling around quite a bit. Then what surprised me even more is that whoever packed it from Dean (whoever, not sure of the distribution line here) didn't even tape their box and the guitar fell out of the box into the outer box, then to the concrete, where the bottom strap bracket got scratched and also the bottom transom of the guitar. Send it back, not likely, how do you prove you didn't just drop it, but that ain't so. Amazon, check this quality control issue in a hurry. Besides all that drama, the guitar side of it is very good for the price. It plays nicely, the neck allows quick slides up and down, and the model I got, kind of a flat black, looks pretty damn classic. The pickups sound good for this model in the beginner to intermediate line, but getting past the box issue, it is what I would expect from Dean, a solid, middle-of-the-road option that you would be pleased with if you are not in a mega rock band with a label. I would recommend it, only, if there is a comment section, state that you want it packed properly. Besides that, I'm game with Dean still. They make a good product, never disappointed. :o)

3Material quality good - assembly terrible
By MC242
Purchased this guitar as a cheap rig to teach my kids to play. For the price, I was impressed with the materials quality/hardware of this guitar. The black finish on the body is very cheap though, and has noticable blemishes. However, the assembly was HORRIBLE and would be a major concern to someone who did not know how to set up a guitar.1) All bolts/screws were loose. Including the neck bolts!2) Fret edges were VERY sharp, spent about an hour filing them down.3) Neck totally out of adjustment. I would say this is fine, since they should be shipped this way but I don't think it was intentional.4) Intonation way off, needs a good tuning. My main gripes are because Dean claims to set these guitars up in the US after they come from the manufacturer overseas.I think that's total BS to be honest. But, you get what you pay for and for $85 I got a lot.

4Class used on all Pro Bikes, 1950-1980.
By Donald Gillies
This saddle is a pretty narrow saddle (260 x 160mm), so if you are a recreational rider who mostly "sits" on your saddle, or rides an upright bike such as a mountain bike or a 3-speed, the B-17 is a better choice. The B-17 is both longer and wider (280 x 170mm) and is Brooks's most popular saddle of all time. This saddle looks awesome, and has been in production for at least 70 years. The quality is superb and the leather is much thicker than cheaper knockoff saddles. With proper care this saddle will last at least 30 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes second. This model was used on just about every racing bicycle in the 1950-1980 era.The price has almost doubled in just the last 2 years, even though the dollar:pound exchange rate (1.6) is about the same, therefore, I have reduced my rating to 4 stars. When riding on bumps, you have to tighten your hamstring muscles and take up the shocks in your knees with a Team Pro saddle. The saddle won't absorb shocks or vibrations for you. If you are not accustomed to "standing" (so 2/3rds of your weight is on your legs, not your bum) on rough pavement, you will find this saddle unacceptable. When I take mine on 50-miles rides, I sometimes come home with a numb pelvic bone.On the plus side, the saddle is narrow, is chamfered, and the leather is very slick, so you are unlikely to get chafe marks when riding all day long at high (110-120 rpm) cadence.

1The titanium model has a fatal defect and gets one star
By Michael G.
The bag loops on all current Brooks saddles have sharp edges which cause them to cut through Brooks leather saddle bags. Brooks acknowledged this to me in a letter I will post at the end of this review and refuses to fix it, instead suggesting I cushion the edges with foam or tape. If this was a cheap product, under $100, I would accept this, however it is not.In other words Brooks as a company is making saddles that don't work with their own saddle bags, they know this and seem to think this is acceptable. The titanium rail version of the Team Pro Classic is the only one with bag loops. Unfortunately it isn't possible to rate the Titanium model separately from the others. The non-titanium models would get five stars from me. I have four other team pro models and love them all, I wouldn't use any other saddle. They are attractive and have a super cool retro-vibe. No other saddle is, in my experience, as comfortable as these on long rides and I happy use them on century rides regularly. I have ridden several of mine for many thousands of miles and they are only getting better. It is such a shame that the titanium model would have such a significant defect. At $360 MSRP the titanium rail saddle is one of the most expensive and highest end items in the Brooks catalog. As a long time Brooks customer I incorrectly assumed it would be one of the highest quality items in their catalog. As a minor aside there is one other issue which all the Brooks Team Pro Classic saddles share. They tend to have rivets with sharp exposed edges. Not every rivet has this, but on each of the three I own at least one does. Somehow this has never seemed to matter - I don't feel it on the bike and my bib shorts don't get torn or ripped. The Team Pro (not classic) has a higher quality rivet hammering job as they are done by hand, or at least the one I own is higher quality. Here is the correspondence I had with Brooks on the sharp bag loop issue. I cut and paste the message portion and redacted most of the headers/footers:From: Steven Green (of Brooks England)Hello [redacted],Thanks for writing and for the photographsI would definitely ask for the bag to be repaired, or replaced. As for the saddle - all of our Bag Loops, these days, come like this. I would consider trying to cushion the straps from the Bagloops edges by using some small foam pieces, or even sellotape. You may even wish to consider gently filing the edges of the Bag Loops to achieve a more rounded edge finish.Best RegardsSteve Green- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -From Me to Brooks:I'm not sure if I require a repair or a warranty claim. When using my Brooks D-shaped bag with my Brooks Titanium Professional saddle the D-shaped bag is getting damaged. The loops on the saddle have sharp edges and are cutting through the D-shaped bag straps. It's getting worse and I fear the straps will be cut through within a few months. Both items were purchased through Amazon.com; the Saddle in August and the bag in September. Should ask for the bag or the saddle or perhaps both to be repaired to avoid this?

5A Comfy Saddle
By R. Runtsch
This saddle replaced my 1982 vintage identical saddle. It seems as well constructed as the original model. After breaking it in for less than 1,000 miles, I rode it on a seven-day, 500-mile, bike ride across Iowa, in 100 degree weather, with 10,000+ other cyclists. It was comfortable at all times, and I never suffered from saddle sores. While the Brooks is heavier than modern saddles, it is well-made, long-lasting if cared for (mainly covered from rain), and is comfortable. In 1996, I rode a 400 mile bike ride from the northern border to the southern border of Minnesota on my original Brooks Team Pro, then aged 14 years. I never felt any pain. But, three days later, I rode a century ride using a "high quality" modern racing saddle and my rear was almost too sore to ride after 70 miles. I completed the ride, but suffered for many days.If you want a long-lasting saddle that stands out in the crowd, and you don't mind investing the time to break it in, I recommend the Brooks Team Pro. It's not for everybody, but you won't know until you give it a try and ride it over 1,000+ miles.

In my effort to "mature" my collection, weeding out kids' meal toys and plushies and going for display items that reflect a more "adult" cartoon lover, I'm happy to say that as long as I have this one, I'll never need to buy another Jonny Quest item again, aside from the DVD set (though, I'd like something like this for The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest, IF it included Jessie Bannon).More of a display sculpture than a toy (these aren't for kids to use as playthings, this one even has a metal rod), this fine set features Jonny in action with fired-up jet pack, blade, and cowardly dog Bandit as he confronts a menacing, prehistoric, winged nightmare! Beautifully sculpted and painted, like all of McFarlane's Hanna Barbera toys, this one does have some delicate pieces, like a knife blade that brakes easily (a little superglue comes in handy when you are into collectibles like this). There is a metal rod for mounting the flying creature that could be seen as dangerous for kids too (and the creature's swinging around on it is what initially broke my little knife, though it's all good now). Once you have everything stabilized and on display though, you're going to be VERY happy with this piece! A must own for the Jonny Quest fan. I just wish this "toy" line wasn't over with, but research showed me that Series 2 came out a couple years ago (doesn't seem like it's been that long, but I'm going by McFarlane's website), leading me to think there won't be any more of these awesome Hanna Barbera sets. Too bad if that's the case. I'd love a Huckleberry Hound, Scooby-Doo, Hokey Wolf, Snagglepuss, Blue Falcon and Dynomutt, Teen Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm, and a few others. For now though, I still have some catching up to do on these (luckily, I only liked a couple from series 1).

5Saturday Morning Classic Imortalized
By John Gentile
Most of us remember Jonny Quest from Saturday mornings. After only one season on ABC's prime time schedule, it ran forever in repeats. Now, the character every young boy wanted to be is frozen in time. He has the cool jetpack, his cowardly dog, and fights a pterodactyl (could this be "Turu the Terrible", from the episode of the same name)? One note of caution, this model is NOT for small children. It has small, delicate parts, that can break easily if not handled carefully.
