Good, Basic Grinder
By Crabigail Cassidy
Having used this for 7 months, it is a dependable grinder that replaced a nearly identical Glastar grinder that I had for 13 years and worked flawlessly until the motor died after a ton of use.For the price, this is quite a deal. My original unit was approximately the same price. It was used to smooth out the rough cut glass I use for my windows and lamps. This performs the same function as it accommodates a variety of grinding heads. As for replacement heads, I have never had a problem getting them online or through my local glass shop supplier. If you follow the instructions and remember to replenish the coolant when using, this should give you worry free use provided you follow the maintenance procedures specified.I also bought a glass saw for finer cuts and like it, but this is my go to machine for detailing.

Good little workhorse
By Glasspony
I have had this grinder for about a year. It's one tough little machine. I said little as it is on the small size, but if you are not doing huge panels, it works just fine. It is super easy to clean and very portable. I have to move my equipment around on my work area and it's no problem to pick the Diamond Star up and put it where I need it. My only issue would be, new grinder heads are a little tough to find. I ended up ordering some from my glass dealer. Actually I just ordered the grinding bands, where are 1/2 the price of new heads for other machines. It's a snap to pull the old one off the top of the white spindle and put the new one on. I really push hard on mine, and it just this grinding trooper. I love mine! I have also found that the spindle's height is adjustable, so as one spot gets worn, you can adjust the spindle to put a new spot on grinding band within reach, effectively tripling your user time.
