Two people can sit together comfortably at his desk, or it provides a nice large workspace for one person. It looks very nice, and seems sturdy enough to hold a heavy printer. It is light enough for two people to move it easily. The top surface is a mottled grey smooth laminate that is pleasant to work on and easy to wipe clean. A dark grey band provides a smooth edge and keeps the top from chipping, which is good since the surface layer is quite thin. This desk is mostly particle board, but it is held together with locking pins rather than screws. It should be possible to take it apart and reassemble it if needed. The feet are metal covered with plastic. My husband helped me put the top on, but the rest was easy to assemble by myself. The last few pins would not lock in place until I put the desk on its side. I did not attach the ugly plastic strip along the back panel because it did not seem to contribute anything. With heavy use this desk might become scratched and not look so good, but I expect it to last a long time in my home office. I am very pleased with this purchase.
