I bought this mailbox because I liked the shape. The mailbox is shipped in five pieces that snap together without tools (a rubber mallet helps). It requires a 3½" x 3½" x 4' pressure-treated post. It is best to set the post in concrete. The mailbox is very sturdy. The postal carrier says it is just the right height. She can put the mail in it without bending. The rear door is very handy. I no longer have to step off the curb to get the mail. The mailbox is easy to clean. I put some stick-on numbers on the side, but they don't stick to the plastic very well.

My mailbox was installed easily over a 4x4 that was sunk into a plastic lined hole which was then filled with large gravel and red clay soil for security. It turned out that the rear door was not needed since the box was installed at an angle to the driveway.My only problem is that the mail person slams the door after putting in the mail and I am afraid that it will not withstand much of that treatment. The door goes into the box as the framing is shallow. I have not been at home at delivery time so have not been able to request that the door not be closed so firmly!

I was very pleased with this item. I already had a 4x4 post in the ground. I simply shortened the post with a saw, slid this mailbox over the post, and secured it with the provided screws. Looks great and was easy to install if you already have a post in place! (NOTE: I am not a handy sort of person yet I had no problems installing this by myself)
