4works good but small leak
By dougd
Unit works good but small leak created due to warping if you're using 6awg cable. The 6awg cable is difficult to bend @ quick 90 deg angle and pushes out front plate slightly.Quick fix was clear, outdoor silicon and it's been dry ever since.

3Needs to be larger for #6 Wire
By Amazon customer
Wired for a 50 AMP generator, but for #6 wire the box is too small without some serious work. Requires patience to get the wires to fit in the box, it worked for me but I ended up replacing the hold down screw with a larger one to hold the box together. It does look good on the side of the house because of the size and seems work well but you have to be careful with a 50 amp cord, you could twist this box off the house if not properly secured.

5Make Generator Connections a Snap...
By Rick Smith
We bought a portable generator for our home during the last power outage and needed a way to quickly connect it to our electrical panel when we lost power. There are a lot of different options for inlet boxes available and I settled on the Reliance PB50 for a few critical reasons. Unlike many of the other less expensive inlet boxes on the market, the Reliance model is made of zinc-plated metal for years of carefree use. The last thing I want to do is have to pay an electrician to replace a plastic box a few years from now because it leaks or is cracked. I also liked the way the connector is placed on the front of the box for easy access. I have neighbors that have installed inlet boxes where this connector is on the bottom and while this may seem like it provides some protection from the weather, it makes connecting the generator cable a hassle. They have to get down on their knees on the wet ground, in the rain or snow to make their connections. I simply have to lift the spring-loaded lid and slide in the cable. This door also provides some shelter from the pouring rain for the cable and coupled with the tight seal of the connector assembly eliminates any chance of weather damage. I have used the Reliance PB50 several times since installation and it has worked flawlessly for me. Remember, even though there may be other less expensive alternatives, Reliance has been making power connection and control equipment for years and you'll get what you pay for.
