4Another solid Canon Printer
By C. Baker
I use a printer mainly for text and web page printing and the MP180 does a fine job there. It makes very good copies and and does so much faster than my former multifunction, a Canon MP390 (it took forever to warm up). That said, one big downer are the print cartridges - just like those in an HP printer (in fact, I read somewhere that HP manufacturers these cartridges). Canon states that these are part of the FINE system. When investigating printers I failed to fully research what FINE cartridges are, FINE being an acronym that I don't remember what it represents (something about the ink and printing process and that it will last for a hundred years when used to print photos). Shame on me for not doing so - I assumed this printer used Canon's ink tank system/separate print head that uses fairly inexpensive ink tanks. That feature has ALWAYS been a major attraction for me and is why my last couple printers were from Canon. So, if you want a good, inexpensive photo multifunction printer consider the MP180 - but be forewarned about the print cartridges.

4I like this little all-n-one..
By Randall J. Wright
The reviews I read are about right. The scanning is not as good as it could be. And the print jobs are good. I like how well it works when you need it. Unlike the HP's I have owned and became nightmares, Not to mention the hours of editing the reg once you throw the HP out the window (true story)I would buy this printer again if needed (god forbid) to. I have never loved an all-n-one before I bought the mp180. It just works all the time without hassles or software problems.. Try it you'll like it..

4Very Pleased
By Rogue1
I bought this printer based on the good reviews that I read. The printer does what I want, very good photo quality even on regular paper. It also scans well and was very easy to set up. The printer's card reader acts like a regular card reader and allows you to download to the computer and is not dedicated to the printer. My only complaints are that in order to scan at 1200 dpi you have to use the scanner driver ( none of the software included lets you scan above 600 dpi). The included software has no options for scanning and faxing a document using a modem either; I use winfax so that does not bother me. You cannot have the printer use just the black cartage even in grayscale it uses color ink.For the price though (I paid $104 on Amazon with free shipping) you can't beat the photo quality. If you are looking for a good all in one and don't need a fax machine built in look at this printer.
