I bought this glass grinder after taking a beginner's level stained glass class. The grinder is similar to ones we used in the classroom over the 7 weeks of classes so I felt very comfortable in using it right out of the box. It does what it supposed to do and it does it well. I have used both grinding bits, the larger 1" and smaller 1/4". I like that it has a "second story" work surface to use while on the 1/4" bit. I had gotten used to "hand-holding" glass at that bit, but it's nice to have a steady surface. Users should be aware that water and debris does fly out from the bit and the optional folding vinyl backdrop ( tri-fold screen ) is really a great and useful addition. I like the product very much and I would recommend it heartily to any beginner.

I bought this to replace a grinder that was over 25 years old. It is VERY nice. The bit that it came with was quite coarse. I am using it for now but may buy a finer bit later. It actually makes my grinding go faster though!I really like the five year warranty and the top that can be flipped over when one side is worn. I really like this grinder and would recommend it to anyone. I hope it lasts at least as long as the other.
