We're remodeling, and went with the huge Shaw sink. Because it's baked fireclay, the enamel can chip if you drop something into the deep bottom, so we sprung for the grid to protect the bottom. Chose stainless over the vinyl coated, mainly for looks at first. The stainless grid is perfect. It fits the sink perfectly, the opening matches the drain for ease of cleaning the strainer. In looking at the sheet that came with the stainless, it points out that the vinyl coated version can stain from certain foods, and can melt if you put a hot pot on it, yet the vinyl costs the same as the stainless! Made us even more glad we chose the stainless over the vinyl option.
