This is not high tech new technology, but is an adequate processor if you just surf the web or send emails or do not do anything too intense. It is a dated processor but may serve your needs. With the new processors out there this is a bit over priced now compared to a new 3rd generation Core I3, which can be bought for $30.00 less. But if you have an older board that the new processors are not compatible with, this may be what you need. I bought mine for a 6 year old Compaq, and it performed well. I have since built my main computer with a 3rd generation Core I7 with 32mb of ram. But this would be OK for Grandma or Grandpa.
