I have had this level and the 24 inch one for two and a half years. Before that I always bought a crick, with the crick I would take grate care of it, use linseed oil once a week ,keep it clean excetra . But after a 12 hour day sometimes you just don't feel like it. I ended up replacing the crick once a year. So I decided to try the Stabila.there are several advantages to this level. First you do not have to oil it, the lenses do not break like on the crick, sense the vial is on top you do not have to bend over to see it when you are leveling something that is low , I have dropped this level of scaffold several times no vials have broken . however if you are in apprentice stage and have not developed a feel for brick. this level may not be for you. as apprentices tend to have to bang things down. The crick is much better in this regard. I myself have been laying brick for about 10 years and did not buy this level until I had been laying about 7 and a half years. I will never go back.

Very light weight and is easy to sight from most angles. Well constructed. I used it to check levels on poured concrete and was very happy with it. Easy cleanup afterwards
