Great Creeper
By AndyC
I have never used a creeper before, so I can not compare to others. I live about 70 miles from where I park the truck. Since it cost so much in fuel to take the truck home, the truck does not get greased as often as it should. The low profile creeper got great reviews. This one has 4" wheels instead of the 2", but is the same creeper (just larger wheels). Although going to the Lisle website, I could not tell how much clearance was lost by going with the taller wheels. The information was not there. I know it is an inch taller at the bottom, but I don't know if there is an additional inch clearance between the board and the wheel. In my case, it does not mater. The website said the larger wheels took more weight and rolled better over cracks and uneven surfaces. Now I can grease my truck right in the parking lot without crawling in the grease and dirt. This thing works great. I even rolled around the yard with it. It rolled really easy (although it was dry-- no mud). Backing us was more difficult until the wheels were able to turn. From what I have read from other reviews, with other products, either the board breaks or the wheels do. I spent the extra money, and I got the one that had all the great reviews. Now mine did come with some scratches on the handle, not that anyone would ever see them. The 6 wheels are surprisingly heavy. They all popped right into place but one. There was a brass looking clip slightly bent. To my surprise, I took a pair of needle nose pliers and bent it back with out any problem. In conclusion, like I said, I was able to grease the truck on a cracked blacktop parking lot without any problems. This parking lot is used for dump trucks, so this creeper rolled over cracks, dirt, and even little gravel with no trouble at all. You can even see from the picture the wheels can stick out from the creeper a little since it was designed for the 2" wheels. This creeper is also 1" or 2" taller, so you will loose a little clearance under your vehicle. If clearance is your only concern, you may want to go with the low profile. If like me, your main concern it to be able to roll over dirt, cracks and crap, this is the creeper for you. It rolls great, and you will not be disappointed. You have twice the clearance under the creeper. This means more to me than loosing 1 or 2 inches under a vehicle.
