The quality of this enclosure is superb. The enclosure is very well-fitted steel, and the trays have a very solid locking mechanism. The fan is large and standard-sized, and could actually be replaced without powering down the system.The instructions are somewhat cryptic, but adequate. The enclosure came configured for I2C management, and to get it to work with my Adaptec 6805E I needed to change the jumpers to GPIO mode. The jumper settings were clearly shown, though, and removing the fitted back panel was very easy. My adapter recognizes the enclosure and the activity and fail/identify drive lights work perfectly.The included fan is fairly powerful and of high quality, and the air flow seems very well laid out. It has no problem keeping the drives cool, and the fan alarm works and is very loud (as I discovered when I forgot to reconnect it to the backplane).This enclosure won't fit in a case that has metal tabs between the 5.25" bays. My Thermaltake Armour had these tabs, but the enclosure fit perfectly once I cut them off with a Dremel.The CSE-M35TQ (beige) and CSE-M35TQB (black) are a bit hard to find, but can sometimes be had for a good price. They are superior to most 5 in 3 hotswap enclosures in quality, and the managed backplane is a great feature that is unavailable in any of the competing products I have seen.

I have this drive cage attached to a LSI SAS controller. Works well, and the LSI card detects and knows there is a enclosure present. The SAN Ace fan is decently quiet and seems to be high quality.
