Product Description
The indoor surface or flush mount Panel/Link TRB1006D offers a 100Amp Utility side breaker and 60Amp generator side breaker interlinked to keep the generator isolated from the utility at all times, even with the deadfront removed. The TRB features a heavy-duty copper bus. The TRB is suitable for service entrance and may be used as a main panel for a single load or to feed a sub-panel.

This tool works just as they say. I used it today as I upgraded the outlets in our kitchen, baths and garage to GFIs and it correctly identified the appropriate breaker every time.You do need to read and follow the directions, which say to make two passes over all of the the breakers in your panel. The first time, it will beep at and point to a number of breakers. The second time, it beeps and a green arrow points to only one breaker, the one controlling the circuit into which you plugged the transmitter.A tool that works and is reasonably priced. What more could you ask for?

Over the years I have purchased several devices which were supposed to trace circuits to the appropriate breaker in the breaker panel. Most gave random results, some didn't work at all. Last year I bought a device 3 x price of this one and sent it back as unusable within 24 hours. In some houses one can plug in a radio, turn up the volume, and systematically switch off breakers until the right one is found. Sometimes that's not practical but the same system can work with a helper. That system of course leaves you to reset any equipment throughout the house that is not intended to lose power. In recent years, partly due to an absence of helpers, I have relied more and more on a shorted plug to "pop" the breaker, probably not best for safety or for the circuit in question but effective. (This last approach might be referred to as the OSHA heart failure method).The Reliance THP110 Crcuit Breaker Finder is a decided improvement. Mine arrived about an hour ago, and in a few minutes I was able to trace the circuits I was interested in. Bravo, Reliance! (Do make the single calibration pass as described in instructions; after that - at least in my case - the trace is infallible).

This thing performed as advertised but be warned, it's VERY cheaply constructed. It has the feel of some kids play walkie talkie you might see for sale in the toy section of a drug store. (Plastic handcuffs not included). Also, any slight bump on the button will turn the thing on so you won't be storing it with the battery inserted. Functionally it's pretty slick and makes finding the right breaker a snap, just don't drop it.
