I have had experience with one other food dehydrator. I won't mention the name, but it had a pretty well known informercial years go. That food dehydrator compared to the one made by Sausage Maker are worlds apart.Everything I've dehydrated in my new Sausage Maker Dehydrator has been excellent. The design is simple, but effective. I also like the fact that it is all stainless steel which, in my opinion, has a much nicer look than plastic dehydrators. The only minor complaint I have is that it seems to dry things faster in the rear of the dehydrator rather than the front, which is to be expected since that's where the heat coils are placed. Although the difference is noticeable, it's not a tremendous difference. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this purchase.
