By J. P. Kearney
I tried many Tenor Saxophones before choosing this one. I tried Buffets, Selmers & others that were hundreds if not thousands of $$$ more and I found this Merano Sax to be the best. The sounds reminds me of a Yamaha Sax, bright & punchy. The notes bend beautifully. I've gotten so many wonderful sounds out of this horn & have really abused it playing live. My bandmates are thrilled that we have added this to our set up. I like it so much I went back and bought a Cello from crystalcello as well (which is also excellent) Great Tenor Sax !!! Thank you

By Duhkgeorge
This will be an ongoing review that I'll update over the next year or two.I've reviewed other products so no worries about me being a plant (I did worry about this and the reviews when purchasing). The packaging:Comes in a brown cardboard box that has a cardboard box with foam inside it. Inside that is the case. The saxophone in the case had a number of cork padding placed to hold various keys down (I assume to prevent them from flopping during shipping).Five stars for packaging based on my packaging. The Case:hard case with Nylon like fabric exterior (but hard under fabric). The case has a side pocket for music and decent compartments withing. The handles are straps and the case itself zippers closed. You have to unzip all the way and then two nylon straps prevent the top from flopping back. Holds well and not tipsy.Good segmentation for mouthpiece, sax, neck, and then a misc area. Nothign had spilled out of it during shipping so I assume it's okay at this point.I'd give it four stars because I'm concerned about how the zippers will hold up, but if it wasn't for that it's a nice layout and five stars. I appreciate the extra external pouch for music. The contents:SaxophoneNeckWhite plastic mouthpiece with cap and one reed about 2.0? (easier to play than my 2.5... it's been a while for me.)neck strap (barely long enough for me and I wouldn't mind a little longercork grease (I didn't use as i bought a rico one)fluffy feather plug thing for main body to clean/remove moisture? it came inserted into the sax.(2) white glovesyellow cloth for exterior wipe down.some misc tools with tweezers and screwdriver(2) loose Nylon straps (for the case? I haven't really played with that yet and they both look the same so I wonder if i got two by mistake.)The instrument:This part will need further review. It plays out of the case and sounds/feels like a good beginner. I had a few squeaks while playing with the keys/sound but I suspect a large part of that is me. I'd run back through the scales again and it was fine. It's just been twenty years since I've really played (Dear god I've gotten old!!! I played for about 8 years before that). The neck strap is shorter than I'd like. The sax looks pretty. The stench is horrible and you'll want to wash the mouth piece and possibly replace the reed. It's an oily/chemical smell to the sax which affects the reed. Probably to keep it from rusting or the cork healthy. Not sure but ugh. Must wipe down when I get home!Overall Review:this will be updated. I give it three stars right now because it's still an unknown until I play around with it for a while. My 20 minutes of dabble at work says it's functional. I would not state it's yamaha quality, but seems okay so far and better than the rental i had from the school from back in the day. The packing is good. The sax needs cleaning because of the stench and new reeds but should function decently for beginners. If you're looking for more, I couldn't advise it at this time but that may change down the road as I play more.I hope that helps somewhat. I tried to answer some questions I had when I was looking to purchase and the other questions will take time playing and messing around with it.

By W. Matthew Seward II
Solid horn especially for the price range!!! Great service... They don't have a phone number, but if you contact them via email, they will get back to you the same day.Intonation problems on a few notes, but nothing I wouldn't expect from a Tenor that's less than 300$... The keys feel good, the corks are great, pads are nice... As long as you take care of this horn, it will take care of you.I would definately buy again.
