Seems to work

I have this filter inline before a cartridge filter.It does have some iron discoloration, so I know its stopping sediment from reaching the cartridge filter.The self cleaning does not make a visible difference. I open up the valve to flush it out, but it appears the same.Maybe this filter is only stopping few large particles?Maybe my water is cleaner than I feared and the filter is unnecessary?On the bright side, I have not needed to replace my cartridge filter yet (expected life - 3 months, actual - 12)
